Feather Down has just been announced as the winner of a prestigious “Prima Baby” award in the Family Holiday UK and Europe category. Prima Baby is a monthly UK pregnancy and parenting magazine launched in 1990, as well as part of the popular website Made For Mums.
The contender for Feather Down was Midgham Farm in Hampshire. This farm exemplified both the Feather Down style and quality, as well as the innovative concept that allows Feather Down to continue to set the pace as glamping pioneers. Midgham Farm is located only 5 miles from the New Forest National Park boundary. The farm has been a Feather Down location since the very beginning. By teaming up with Feather Down, Midgham Farm was able to keep up with current trends in terms of activities and accommodation, while maintaining the essential appeal of the company’s stylish but unpretentious way of bringing families to nature.
Glamping with Feather Down
Feather Down’s mission is to bring the glamping concept to families, whether it’s on a farm, vineyard or on a beautiful estate. This unique glamping concept brings the best the British countryside has to offer, right to your doorstep. Wake up on the most beautiful sites in the UK and unzip your tent to get a peek of a real working farm. The owners will welcome you with Feather Down’s legendary hospitality and service. Guests can even bring their dog ( *until July 1st ) if they like! At Feather Down, children leave their tablets and videos games at home. Instead, they spend their evenings around the campfire and their days on the farm, beach or swimming in lakes. On most of the Feather Down locations, children can play with all kinds of animals, while able to roam free in safety.
A family holiday at Midgham Farm
Midgham is a pony farm, and children are free to groom and play with the horses. Furthermore, the pretty bluebells are already showing at Midgham and even more exciting: you can bottle fed their newborn lambs and calves! In addition, little piglets were born just last week, and new foals are due in May/June. All Feather Down farms will encounter a “baby boom” during spring, with lambs through the whole of April and calves being born even past April! Children staying at Midgham can help in the stables, play at the goat paddock, pet rabbits or climb ropes or go for a little fishing. And something very special: you can spot roe deer in the forest!
Guests at Midgham farm have the option to choose any of the three Feather Down levels of luxury glamping accommodations, including the year-round log cabin with mezzanine and private shower. Furthermore, the wooden-floored tents on the farm include the standard 45m2 Canvas Lodge and the 56m2 Canvas Frills Lodge en-suite. The en-suite will have its own decking fitted by June 1st, while the standard tent will get the grand look of the en-suite with a new, extended canopy.
